Friends With Money Movie Story - Synopsis. Tale of four friends for life, who have reached a level of comfort in their lives and have now settled into a life of designer clothes, charity events, and caring for the men and children in their lives. But as they approach old age unsettling things are starting to throw their lives in a state of constant flux. Friends with Money is written by director Nicole Holofcener. Olivia (Aniston) who is reaching a personal crisis and has quit her teaching job and is now cleaning houses. Jane and Aaron (McDormand and McBurney) are designers whose marriage has reached a point of reflection.
